Even though it's no longer on TV, Dragon Ball Z continues to exist as a notable anime franchise in society, thanks to the 7 DVD sets and Atari's annual fighting games. The DBZ TCG is another of these products, and it manages to capture some of the fighting spirit of the series. Don't let the cheap price fool you; while it is no longer supported by Score Entertainment, it is still a fun, easy game to play. It's not as strategic as some of the more popular card games, but it makes for fun games and a good "starting" card game for those new to card games in general. Its cheap price makes it easy to get into without taking a big bite out of your wallet. You can even consider it to be this year's Zypods, so get them while they're still in bulk!
As for the starter deck itself, it provides you with a basic deck, a main personality card, a game mat, a "scouter" to measure stats, and a rulebook. The decks themselves are the same, but each comes with one of 6 see-through main personality cards- Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa- as well as their scouters.
